Little bear
Little bear
Pour le moment le patron n’est disponible qu’en anglais.
Mr. Bear was originally a little bear that I had made for my baby girl, using for the body, a second hand skirt that I had thrifted. I then spent hours and hours on our wooden floor, in our little flat in Riga, embroidering the face and body.
My daughter loved that bear, but lost it one day alongside a whole menagerie of other stuffed animals.
I’m not going to lie, I’m still heartbroken over this loss haha!
One day she asked me “but where is Mr. Bear”. That’s when I knew that I had to try to make her another one.
I knew that I wouldn't have been able to match the first version because I had put so much love, so many emotions into making this little stuffed animal for the baby that was still in my womb.
So I decided to make a different kind of bear.
Knitting it would be a challenge, as the face needed to be done in intarsia in the round, which was a technique completely new-to-me. But I took the time to learn, and after deciphering the technique, I was hooked! I used German short rows to shape the ears, and I must say that I was quite pleased with what was archived.
I really hope that you’ll enjoy making this little one!
This pattern comes with videos tutorials to guide you through the intarsia in the round bit.
