I always loved the first days of a new year. Bringing new flowers at home, cleaning, rearranging, starting a planner, writing down ideas, dusting off what's useless, and dreaming big. I hope you will find inspiration in this new beginning.

Time has never past so fast than these past few days. And I still cannot believe that a few hours earlier, I was still sitting on my bed in France, knitting my heart out.
But if I really think about it, it’s the whole year that flew by. A few months ago, I was foraging mushrooms, and before that it was berries. A LOT of knitting happened, and goals were accomplished.
Now I’m ready to embrace a new year, start working on new plans, and make my dreams come true. I wish you a wonderful beginning of the year, (with plenty of knitting) and may your dreams come true!
I'm wishing you a wonderful Christmas.
I'm so excited to share what I've been working on with De Rerum Natura today. Over the past few weeks, I've been busy selecting colors, making swatches, playing with stitches, designing new pieces and taking photographs outside. Today the Pinecone&Mulberry kits are available. They contain 2 skeins (in the color of your choice) of Gilliatt which is a 100% french merino wool, and a booklet of 8 pages featuring three patterns: Pinecone&Mulberry hat, scarf and cowl. I've enjoyed working with this yarn for a second time so much. I love the rustic feeling that it has, its elasticity and its softness.
To celebrate winter, cosy days at home and our love for beautiful wools, we've decided to make you win a Pinecone&Mulberry kit and two gift cards of 10€ to spend on the De Rerum Natura shop. To enter, please visit De Rerum Natura on facebook.
Good luck everyone and happy knitting!
This week I'm joining Nicole on her "keep calm & craft along" and Ginny on her "Yarn Along". I've been busy working on several projects lately, including my Strokkur sweater. But the project that is keeping me the most busy is a new pattern that I'm designing. Swatching, calculating, knitting, unravelling, knitting unravelling again and intense thinking are usual things these days.
But when the brain starts to overload, I know that it's time to take a break, go outside to have a walk or take the tea pot and infuse some chai latte.
Even though I won’t be spending Christmas in Latvia this year, I still intend to make the best out of December and decorate the house.
I’ve already framed the doors and windows with pine branches, made some wooden & corn starch clay ornements, and the paper snowflakes that I have made earlier are already hanging on my windows. But the most important piece of the decorations was not yet in the house. So this weekend we headed out to the woods, with the saw in hands, hunting for the perfect Christmas tree. And after a short walk, we finally found the perfect candidate... The tree is not yet decorated, but I'll work on that tonight. I'll show you the final result in another post.
In the meanwhile stay warm & happy knitting!
