Happy November everyone! It's still early in the season, but, we are already burried under snow! And that is so exciting because as soon as Halloween is over, I'm ready to fully embrace all of the Christmas things and start wearing wool from head to toe!
As I'm writting right now, snow is still falling, and I'm dressed with wooly things: cosy socks, comfy dress and my Hollows shawl!
The shawl pattern is coming out today which is super exciting (Youtube video+snow!)! I have loved working on this piece so much because I have used new-to-me techniques like big eyelets and short rows and also because the knitting was a no brainer. I spent so much time relaxing and watching series or listenning to podcasts while working on this piece. Pure bliss!
The shawl is knit top down and is shaped with increases and short rows, to give it a very elegant and feminine look. The final piece measures 200cm long and 50cm deep, making it the most comfy thing to wear around the neck! The shawl requires 300g of fingering weight yarn ( 6 balls of Blacker Yarns, Blacker Swan Falkland Merino 4-ply, 50g/190 yards, OR 300g/1140 yards of fingering weight yarn. The sample was knit with 5 balls only, but with less than 10g remaining, it is suggested that you have an extra ball) and a pair of US6 (4mm needles).
To celebrate the pattern release, I have teamed up with Blacker Yarns! You can use the coupon code BLACKERHOLLOWS15 to receive 12%off the Blacker Yarn website (valid until the end of the month) and 15% the pattern (valid until Nov 7th midnight Riga time)
And we are also starting a knit along for the pattern! If you want to participate, get your yarn and needles ready and head out to the Mandarine's Ravelry group!
